Review - Panda 1:35 Bell UH-1N 'Twin Huey'

Chinese company Panda have released a few subjects to date and have an impressive looking list of future releases...

This is the first Panda kit I've bought and, as well as being an interesting subject, represents an 'interesting' set of mouldings.

Detail is simplified and the components rather 'clunky' - I'm no helicopter kit expert, but I do wonder whether this is a scaled up version of a smaller scale kit.

Whilst basic, construction looks straightforward and, with a little extra work, the end results can look very good. The most obvious 'accuracy' issue is, to my mind, the nose contours (the kit appears a little 'blunt' for this variant) - something comparison with photos and a few modelling skills will easily fix.

Components are well packaged in separate bags and the clear parts look good and clear - if a little thick.

So, basic - but lots of potential. Kit includes fairly dull USN markings - the UH-1N has sported many bright schemes over the years and I'm sure the after-market boys will be along shortly.
