Who
would have guessed it - an injection moulded 1:32 Dewotine D.520!
Well,
here it is in the 'plastic' - and very good it looks too!
Boxed
as a 'Limited Edition' the kit looks both accurate in shape and exhibits
superb engraved surface detailing - with very subtle fabric simulation for the
control surfaces.
Some
of the detailing is exquisite, as shown in the accompanying pictures, but
there's still room for improvement in the cockpit.
One
disappointment is the canopy - although thin and commendably clear, it's
moulded in one piece - so the builder will need to take great care if he
intends to separate the components and open the canopy. As the canopy is
relatively thin - we'd recommend filling with modelling clay to provide
internal support, prior to making several very gentle cutting passes with a
sharp scalpel.
Some
details are provided in polyurethane resin - they are cleanly cast and free of
defects.
Decals
look superb, although the blue is slightly out of register.

This
kit is highly recommended - I've already bought two, and represents excellent
value. If 1:32 scale aircraft models are your thing, go get one!
