Review - Dutch Profile Book and Decals: Dutchies in de FAA: Dutch Naval Pilots serving with the Fleet Air Arm during the Second World War

By Iain Ogilvie

Sent to us recently for review is an excellent 16 page bi-lingual Dutch/English book on the above and an accompanying set of decals for 1:32 Corsair and Hellcats illustrated within the book.

As with the Mustang Decals we reviewed last month, these decals are top notch quality wise and we can't wait to apply them to models. Four aircraft are covered - as follows:

Hellcat I JVIII/EP of 800 Sqn FAA flown by Lt Charlie Poublon - a/c in Extra Dark Sea Grey/Dark Slate Grey/Sky with invasion stripes.

Hellcat II JX701/166/W 1844 Sqn FAA HMS Indomitable 1945 flown by Gerry Greve - a/c in Extra Dark Sea Grey/Dark Slate Grey/Sky with British Pacific Fleet markings.

Hellcat II JX860/111/W 1839 Sqn FAA HMS Indomitable 1945 flown by Boon von Osschée - a/c in Gloss Sea Blue with British Pacific Fleet markings.

Corsair Mk.IV KD803/11V11 of 1853 Sqn FAA, FAA Brunswick, Maine, USA 1945 flown by Jan R. Schuiling - a/c in Gloss Sea Blue.

Printed by Decalprint in Holland, these decals look superb - very thin, good colour and excellent register.

Overall a superb package and I really like the individual pilot histories behind the markings - brings them to life! Please note that the Book and decals are sold separately.
