Latest Update 8th Feb

It's looking like another bumper year - and the recent Nuremburg Show has announced yet more!

Only two problems - I can't possibly keep up - and, at least here in the UK, we can expect prices to rise in coming months.

Our 'Latest News' page has been updated with as much as we can find at present - if I've missed something please let me know!

Rodney Williams is back with more superb modelling - this time taking the $10 21st Century Toys Ju-87B Stuka and creating another stunning model. Who says this is an expensive hobby? Click here!

Now - go build something!

Scale ModelWorld 2008

Well - I think I've just about recovered from this years Scale ModelWorld show - the best ever for large scale aviation modelling.

Your Editor at large went a little wild with the camera and the results, along with some manufacturer news, can be found here.

RIP Alan W Hall 1928 - 2008

It is with very great sadness that I have today learned of the death of one of the giants of our hobby - Alan W Hall.

Alan will be known to many as the man behind Aviation News, Scale Aircraft Modelling Magazine and Warpaint series of books.

I've known Alan for 25 years - since I moved to Buckinghamshire in 1983.

He was based in offices in Berkhamstead, Hertfordshire and had advertised in Scale Aircraft Modelling - my favourite mag at the time - for a reviewer that was interested in doing vac kit reviews...

I was only 17 and to meet the great man for the first time was a nerve wracking experience.

Alan was one of life's real characters - opinionated - yes.

Passionate about aviation and modelling - most certainly...

In fact I'd go as far as saying he was one of the hobbies true pioneers and did a huge amount to promote and develop the hobby - especially here in the UK.

Our condolences to his family.

God's speed Alan - you will be sorely missed...
