Tom Kipp
(aka mr442)

This is the front view of
the Scratchbuilders TBM-3 modified to a TBM-3E night attack aircraft.
The radar pod is from a Hasegawa Hellcat, along with the main wheels.
The main tires are from a 1/48 B-1 bomber, and the main gear legs are
scratchbuilt. The cockpit and interior were mostly scratchbuilt, along with
the interior turret detail. This model is heavy being all resin and white
metal.

These are shots of my
Matchbox Dauntles, backdated from the SBD-5 to a Battle of Midway SBD-3.
Scratchbuilding was extensive in addition to the Eduard cockpit and exterior
detail set. All clear canopy parts were hand molded with thermaform
using the original kit pieces as molds. The kit parts were too thick to
allow all the canopies to be displayed open. The kit windscreen was
used. The carburettor scoop on the cowl was made from sheet stock. The
"telescope" gunsight scratchbuilt from brass tube.

Here is my Trumpeter
Wildcat, Matchbox Dauntless, and an old Revell Corsair modified to a
"birdcage" F4U-2 nightfighter. The radar pod is a Hasegawa
P-51 drop tank.

Here is a collection of my
"airshow" birds. Included is a Hasegawa F-16C Thunderbird, an
Academy F-18 Blue Angel (it pained me not to use all those beautiful underwing
stores), a Revell F-4E backdated with F-4C wings in CAM Decals Thunderbird
markings, and in the rear, out of the box Trumpeter FF-5 in Chinese
"October 1st" squadron markings and the East German aerobatic team
MiG 19. The MiG 19 is all stencilled painting. The only decals
provided for those markings is the East German emblem and nose number.

Here is the JU-87G using
the excellent Jerry Rutman conversion srt.

My Tornado using the
Flightpath PE detail set. Take a look at the flaps.

In front is the Mirage III
with the TAC Scale Dynamics IAI Kfir C-7 conversion set. The bombs came
from the Academy F-18 since it didn't need them as a Blue Angel. In the
background is my very first major conversion, an F-16B using two Hasegawa kits
and a vacuformed canopy that I built in 1985 (and was featured in the now
defunct "Scale Modeler Magazine in 1986) and way in back is the Tamiya
F-4E in markings from the 1973 Yom Kippur War.

The old Entex
"Willow," straight out of the box. It even came with the
rigging wires. Excellent kit by today's standards even though it is 30
years old.

Tamiya Zero. This one
came in first place for it's class at the 2004 Eddie Rickenbacker Chapter
show.

Just one of my
"walls" of 1/32 models adorning my home. I have a very
tolerant wife. Lighting wasn't great, but that entire bottom row is
Phantoms. This does not show the additional shelves directly below this
tier, or the other walls. I may need to add an addition to the house.
