Tamiya F15E Eagle

Cockpit
- The only modification was to ad sheepskin fleeces from Milliput and belt
buckles and straps using Reheat buckles and lead foil straps.

Canopy
- The prominent mould line was removed by polishing with Micromesh. I
have a pal who was able to get me some of this stuff from the RAF...

Base
- Bristol Board from an art shop. Lines drawn in with a Rotring pen, then
airbrushed with a pale brown to give a weathered effect. The stains were thinned
down oil paint. The drain cover was a freebie from Accurate Armour - it's the
type they include in their U-Boat jetty.

Crew
-
The aircrew are modified Reheat Tomcat crew. The helmet was re-carved to
represent the type used by F-15 jocks and the visor was push moulded, using the
kit helmet as the master. The visors were cut from the acrylic sheet, painted
black on the reverse and the elastic straps made from masking tape. The crew
chief is made up from Airfix Multipose US Army parts, modified with Miliput.
Extra
detail not visible in the photos includes the avionics bay, which had lots of
additional plumbing added from various gauge copper wire and the crew chief's
comms panel under the aircraft belly, which I detailed with various bits and
pieces. I didn't use the drop tank on this kit - so I have a spare for mine!
Hope
this stuff is of use, I've started in on the Hasegawa F-104's, but they'll
probably be a while yet!
Cheers,
Chris.
