Gallery - Alan Dent Part II - the mad scratch-builder strikes back!

Alan - it's really great to see more of your work!

Alan Dent

Part I

Just to let you know I am still around and an update on what has passed since I last met with you and John.  As I have had health issues no modelling has been done for a couple of years until recently.

I just hope other modellers get as much pleasure or inspiration from my photographs as I have had building them. I gain as much inspiration from the other modellers presentations on the site.

‘A Warning’ message to all those on the site, do not put off finishing those part built models, you never know what is around the corner.

Now reinvigorated and in full control of my faculties (if only) it was time to get stuck in and finish those long forgotten projects.  So here we go:

The Buccaneer S1

I have now completed making the final pieces to finish the beast a few shots just to prove progress has been achieved and hopefully come the early summer I will have it  finished in the anti radiation scheme, watch this space.

DH Hornet F3 19 SQN

Having languished part built for more years than I wish to remember, push came to shove and the final components were added to the air frame, decals sorted and mark selected it was completed in February.

For the time being the NF22 will have to wait.

Percival Provost P56

I could not make a JP without building the forerunner, the piston Provost and the Mk 1 JP.  As with the Hornet another semi completed model was finished, although the Mk1 JP will have to wait a tad longer for its completion.

Meteor Mk4

This started life as a T7, then completed as an NF 11, rather than build another T7 or NF variant I took the cut and shut option reverting the model into its early fighter mode when it served with No. 1 Sqn.

Vampire FB5 and T11 & Sea Fury from a few years ago.

As with all of the models, markings and Sqn’ badges were hand painted and apologies for the photographs, I have difficulty with the digital camera, techno-challenged.

Regards,

Alan
